From zero comes a hero, a common phrase. Plan B says from Zero comes a Villan. Yes, Its them today. Kash, Capital J and J-Mal is under the spotlight of Plan B in support of a better local music scene. Right from the beginning, Villanz is known for their power packed built up no matter their ads or promotions. These boys knows marketing… and they’re good in it. Right from Asthivaram which they made their debut, now came another chapter in the story of the Villanz. Let Plan B marks his spot in the journey of Saagavaram.
First I will add in another topic in my review which is the cover design. The reason is simple, I’m impressed with the improvement of this design compared to the Asthivaaram. An album content can be judged by its cover. The old saying is only for books. My opinion about the cover design are maturity is shown & a sign of decency was preserved. Plan B pleased to see rappers in full suit. You think only P Diddy and Billa look good in blazers? Cover story ends here.

Intro…..intro… hip hop. I’ll go straight to tracks.

Saagavaram – Song started rough…really rough. Maybe its CJ’s signature but Mansheer really gave some good spice to be added in the song. The girl’s voice is killer. Who? Tunisha……ha ha ha.

Machanae – A good one….Who did the “yelelo” part in the beginning? That was really cool. A remake of a 80′s song. I would suggest Kash to make this song as number 1 track if I met him earlier. Music plays a very good role in this song where there is nothing in mess at all. Smooth is all I can say.

Katchi Pizhai – A sorrow song. I didn’t knew these guys could sound sorrow. I am quite unsure about the song therefore I will update you guys soon after meeting up with The Villainz .

Chakde! – What?? Bhangra beat number, JC with his shouts and for this song, its really suitable. In the first place I thought Kash gonna sing in bhangra mode. Whether he sings or not, you guys better listen to find out. A good collaboration with GoldKartz.

Tell me lord - This could be one of my personal favorite track. Why?? I like the beat, chorus and the pattern of the song. I did see the touch of Xzibit’s Symphony in the Major X. Sit back and enjoy this.

Comedy Time – Just one word. Triangle! Shall I see a square soon?? I’ll leave it to the listeners. I like the movie clips added in.

Fatimah 2008 – I believe many would agree that this song is nice but the original version is better.(This is what I heard). Lets think out of the box. The song was given a new touch by Villanz. Its more like an experiment and in this case its a success. Darkkey sounds more calm in this track but still he marked his signature voice there. A good effort to remake an old hit local song. But this song is not rap or samba rock. Samba Rap?

Gadis Misteri – To the brothers of Villanz, Plan B give a late suggestion that this song should have featured a Malay singer to makesure the reach to the Malay listeners and Era FM. I need to do some extra homework to find out the progress of this song.

Asthivaram vs Siraichalai remix – You heard Asthivaram, you heard Siraichalai…. so this is the upgraded version. Dont miss to listen this number.

Outro….The journey will soon be continued. Plan B will book a ticket to ride along with Villanz.

Now, I can say that Villanz have gone thru a phase of evolution which make them more competitive in the local music industry. This album is totally different compared with the previous album - Improvement achieved.

I’ll hit The Villanz – Saagavaram with 3 stars out of 5. Guaranteed repeated listening is for their Comedy Time, Machanae, Chakde and Fatimah 2008.  Overall this album is worth of buying. Plan B guarantees that RM23.90+- (I got mine for RM21.00) wont go waste. For those who are still in confusion whether to buy the album or not, I suggest you to head to the music store. Listen to this album for few times and you will like it. After playing it five times, I still hadn’t become bored with it even when I was preparing this review. So, its all up to our mentality how we going to accept the truth. One thing for sure, Villanz have learned alot to achieve this level.

To the Villanz,
I am really pleased with this album. My expectation was met. The current demand is for a catchy song with a good beat like the track 10 but unfortunately it happen to be a diss track so it missed the radio. As we know THR plays a big role in local music scene. My personal idea is you guys remake the song without dissing anyone. A plain one I meant. Additional info, the review was delayed for nearly 7 days and what I saw is there is alot of people out there was questioning when does the Saagavaram review will be done. This shows the support for you guys are there.

Here goes another end of review. Glad to see you guys showing a good support towards our local artist. Keep on supporting and please show some love thru the comments here. Your feedbacks are the clapping for me. Thanks.

Plan B.

Ps: This review was made based on the comparison between Asthivaram and Saagavaram. It has nothing to do with being BIAS!

The Villanz has improved compare to the last album but this is not their comfort zone where they can think they are reaching there…. there are ample of space for improvement. Hope they will fill the space in their next album. Congrats for Saagavaram :)

    TheBlackNeo,

I dont just carry Villanz…. I carry for the whole Malaysian Artist. Well, you can sit back and watch it. The worst part is you can’t do anything. You should understand that I’m in a position on being supportive not being an Anti. Maybe you’re anti-Villanz but you dont have to show it here. Be happy I didn’t delete your comment as I accept negative response and I appreciate your effort too. Chill buddy. The world is small and round. Thanks for your comment.

  12. Plan B says:

I am not going to be on anyone’s side. Neither yours nor Villanz. But I like your second comment, its more decent and even acceptable. Now, its up to the person involved.

  13. music lover says:

well..wat can i say to “musickz predator”! haha i guess ur an anti villanz. But sometimes u have to be honest. Come on lar, even ur an anti villanz, but u have to admit that their saagavaram songs are really good. u dont have to make havoc here just bcos of their distrack. ther’s a dozens good songs to njoy.
dont show ur ‘crab story’ here. sorry to use this word. but i had no choise. if ur not satisfied with the distrack then jus dont listen to it, simple as that. and as Plan B says ‘Go ahead and create a “hoohaa”! Gimmie5 Plan B. I support u. So now i think “musickz predator” is a carrier of YO** B, DR,B***, MC J***. So i think “musickz predator” should join Malaysian team in Olympic 2012 for weightlifting :)

Plan B : Its a nice review. I agree with yours. Good job.

VILLANZ – So far the one and only artist which really has the imej and professional as well. About Saagavaram album, I tink its one of the best album in Malaysia. All 15 songs are superb.
No words to describe. They have their own music style. Even my parents like the songs. Its a big achivements for them. Really proud of them. About the disstrack, altough its a disstrack but they did it in a very nice way. Listen to the lyrics, its about Music or War? They are trying to say No fights but in a funny way. Very nice. Really njoy d song. Overall VILLANZ makin an history. MUST BUY ALBUM.

Malaysiamix u guys are supporting the industry to d max.
